Dr. Wendy Blickensderfer joined the All Creatures Veterinary Hospital team in June 2026, bringing a lifelong passion for helping animals of every kind. Growing up in South Dakota’s Black Hills, she developed an early love for both companion animals and wildlife, spending her childhood caring for guinea pigs, rabbits, cats, and dogs while fostering a deep appreciation for raptors and wildlife rehabilitation. Today, she enjoys caring for all creatures and helping pets live healthier, happier lives alongside the families who love them.

Dr. Blickensderfer earned her bachelor’s degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences from South Dakota State University before receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota. During veterinary school, she stayed actively involved in organizations including the Sled Dog Medicine Club, Exotics Club, and Small Ruminant Club, expanding her knowledge across a wide variety of species. Before veterinary school, she also worked in a research laboratory and as a part-time zookeeper, experiences that further strengthened her interest in animal health and conservation.

When she’s not at the hospital, Dr. Blickensderfer loves spending time outdoors. Whether she’s fishing, hiking, camping, kayaking, or exploring somewhere new, you’ll often find her enjoying nature. She also enjoys tackling creative projects, trying new crafts, and spending time with friends, family, and their furry companions.

At home, Dr. Blickensderfer shares her life with Sophie, her 8-year-old Australian Shepherd, and Tuna, her colorful 4-year-old “street cat.” Someday, she hopes to add chickens, goats, and alpacas to her family as well.
